Created by Work-Ready Electronics, a project of the Advanced Technological Education program, this module walks visitors through the basics of micro embedded controllers. The content of the site is divided into four areas: how micros are used, microcontroller architecture, microcontroller memory, input/output interfaces. There is a quiz for each in the Knowledge Probe area, and the Learning Resources section contains three activities to help cement student understanding. There are also further resources - both print and Web based - for more information and two Questors, a Flash trivia game. The Notebook function allows visitors to take notes and review them at any time. This is an excellent resource students and educators in electronics technician programs.

This resource from the Guitarbuilding.org project uses the example of swirl-dipped guitars to illustrate "classification of matter, hydrophobic and hydrophilic compounds, and forces within liquids." Since it is not feasible for a class to have an actual instrument to work with, the students will use common items including paper plates, food coloring and shaving cream to replicate the process. Teacher and student handouts are included in the document. This is the first part of a two-part activity; the second part may be found here.
